Tracks 10-21 taken from Son of Word Jazz (Dot Records, DPLP 3096, 1957 in Mono / Dot Records, DPLP 25096, 1958 rechanneled in stereo). Disc two: Tracks 1-9 taken from Next! (Dot Records, DPLP 3196, 1959 in Mono / Dot Records, DPLP 25196, 1959 rechanneled in stereo). Tracks 10-19 taken from Word Jazz II (Dot Records, DPLP 3301, 1960 in Mono / Dot Records, DPLP 25301, 1960 rechanneled in stereo). Track 20 recorded circa 1960. Originally released on the album How are things in your town (Blue Thumb, BTS 33, 1971). Tracks 21-22 previously unreleased, recorded circa 1960. Technical note: No re-channeled stereo was employed in this recording. The Fairchild 641 stereophonic disc mastering was use in transferring the original masters from tape to disc.
