On April 1, 2013, it was renamed to [l=EMI Records Japan] and became a division of [l=Universal Music LLC]. EMI Music Japan Inc (株式会社EMIミュージック・ジャパン, Kabushiki kaisha Īemuai Myūjikku Japan) was incorporated on June 30th 2007. On that day Toshiba sold off its 45% stake in EMI's previous affiliate in Japan, Toshiba-EMI Ltd.
