"emit is a division of time recording ltd." Ambient label from Nottingham UK, originally active between 1994-1998. Founded by [a114061] and [a1163904], operating under the umbrella of [l445184] with Thompson in the A&R role. Noted for its distinctive animal-themed release artwork created by [l352307]. The label emblem on most releases appears to be a stylized form of the kanji 輝 (ki) meaning "radiance" or "sparkle". Many releases declared their use of the Roland Sound Space (R.S.S) 3D sound imaging system as part of the recording process at [l301359]. In 2003 the label was relaunched and rebranded as "[l1949610]". [b]Catalogue numbers[/b]: The last two digits indicate the year of release, e.g. "94" represents 1994.
