Zon-o-phone Record

[b]For the British label, please use [l=Zonophone Record].[/b] First Zonophone label. Registered in 1898 as a trademark for bootleg [a=Emile Berliner] gramophones manufactured by [l=Universal Talking Machine Co.], the first Zon-O-Phone Record discs were pressed in late 1900 or early 1901. It was briefly replaced with [l=Universal Zonophone Record] between mid 1903 and mid 1904. Spanish and Latin American releases were pressed under variant [l=Disco Zonofono (2)]. Zon-O-Phone Record remained active as a label until 1912, when Universal Talking Machine went defunct.
