Fire Inside Productions
Profile
Fire Inside Productions was a label and production company created by Davy Jones of The Monkees. It was the imprint for many of his solo recordings from 2004 onward (after he folded Hercules Productions and Hercules Promotions). At one point it was to be called Fire Inside/Blair Jones Productions, to reflect the role of Johnny J Blair, then Jones's chief producer, musical sideman, and "creative liaison" (Jones's term). The production company operation involved a chain of recordings studios, engineers, artists, and producers around central Pennsylvania and Nashville. Amongst the personnel were John Bechdel (Fear Factory, Ministry), Cassie Blair, Skip Kline, Bill Matlack Jr., Monette Newsuan, Rusty Richards (Grammy-winning engineer for Brian Wilson), Mark Tomeo, and other notables. When Jones passed away in 2012, the company effectively ended.
