VR Recordings

Profile

VR Recordings was the first Psychedelic Trance label in México and Latin America, it was conceived in the summer of 1996 by Sergio Kirschner and Luz Vargas, radio producers who since 1990 have been supporting the international techno scene through radio shows: * Nexus-6 (XHOF-FM / IMER 105.7 fm) * Tecnoplex (XHOF-FM / IMER 105.7 fm) * Tecno Sector 96 (XEW-FM / WFM 96.9 fm), and * Virtual Radio (XHDL-FM / RADIOACTIVE 98.5 fm) All of them specialized to reveal the different branches that integrate the family tree of Techno Music. VR Recordings was supported and distributed by MCA Music Entertainment México (known now as Universal Music), and although the record label was part of a Major Record Company, it doesn't mean that VR Recordings was a commercial techno label, since one of our main aims was to preserve the music's underground essence by choosing carefully the best Psychedelic Trance singles that were released by independent record labels around the world. The persevering work to develop a Goa Trance scene in México took us to release the first VR Recordings CD: Shabda - A Psychedelic Trance Experience, a compilation album that collects only a handful of artists and independent Record Labels that were part of the European Psychedelic Trance scene. Shabda - A Psychedelic Trance Experience CD was available only in México but in a near future will be available in USA and South America. VR Recordings was an alternative way for psychedelic trance fans in México, to find in our first and future compilations the best singles of this imported music that almost always is hard to find in this part of the planet.
