Matlock Records

Profile

Canada Q: How was Matlock Records started and who is involved? A: Alexandre Frenette (from Sainte-Foy, QC, then in Montreal, and now in Sainte-Foy) started working on Matlock in the summer of 1997. With the release of the "Matlock's First Case" cassette in October '97, Nicolas Frenette was added to the team and Matlock Records became real. Dennis Amos (from Sackville, NB, now in Toronto) joined Matlock in the summer of 1998 shortly after the release of the NORTH OF AMERICA "Elements of an Incomplete Map" CDEP. John Welk (ex-editor of Offbeat Magazine) joined the Matlock team in the summer of 2001, first by offering help with press and radio follow-up, then by silently taking over other responsibilities.
