Lakeside (4)

Profile

Lakeside was a record brand marketed by [l204635]. This page is for cylinder records sold under the Lakeside name. For disc records, see [l533696]. The earliest celluloid Lakeside cylinders were made by [l90832]. These cylinders resemble U.S. Everlasting records, but have "Pat. Lakeside" stamped onto the rim rather than the patent date. These were packaged in cylinder boxes with the Lakeside label pasted over the U-S Everlasting original, and were usually issued without artist credits. These records made their debut in Ward's Spring-Summer 1913 catalog. However, U.S. Everlasting was by now a dying company on the verge of collapse. They ceased making new recordings in 1913 and were dropped after Ward's Fall 1913 - Winter 1914 catalog. At this point, production of Lakeside cylinders shifted to [l238913], which by then was wholly owned by [l112015].
