Profile

US label. Label Code: LC 0040 / LC 00040 [l=World Pacific Records] applies to all the label variations that have occurred over time, starting from 1957 (see images): - World Pacific Records (from 1957 to ~1960); - World-Pacific (with a dash, in the early 60s); - World Pacific (without dash, after the brand was acquired by [l=Liberty Records, Inc.] in May 1965; after the purchase the labels carried the notation "A Product of Liberty Records"). In summer 1968, [l=Transamerica Corporation] purchased all of the Liberty labels including World Pacific. [l=Liberty] and the rest of the labels were folded in with the [l=United Artists Records] label, also owned by Transamerica. United Artists did reissue World Pacific material in the 1970's. The label was revived in the early 90s by [l=Capitol Records, Inc.] and sometimes carries the notation "A Blue Note Label".
