Profile

Argentine budget album series from [l=EMI-Odeon S.A.I.C.], released from 2002 onwards, but selected albums retained the same barcode and catalogue number from the [l2005401] series, released in 1999. Not all songs may be included, and only 10 to 14 songs are included for each artist (except [a=Alas (5)], which contains only seven songs and a song omitted due to CD duration). Albums in the series were released with the Serie De Oro branding, included both Argentine and international artists, and the releases vary depending on the music genre and/or country of origin, such as romantic, folklore, rock and tango. The phrase Serie De Oro followed by the category of releases: [l=Serie De Oro Románticos] - focusing mainly on love and romantic songs [l=Serie De Oro Folclore] - focusing mainly on folk artists [l=Serie De Oro Jazz] - there was only ever one edition released, by [a=Oscar Aleman] [l=Serie De Oro Rock] - focuses on rock music, almost all of them being Argentine EMI artists [l=Serie De Oro Latinoamericana] - the series include mainly artists from other Latin American countries (Chile, Peru and Uruguay - example of respective artists: [a=Los Jaivas], [a=Chabuca Granda] and [a=Los Olimareños]), although the series included Argentine artists such as [a=Atahualpa Yupanqui] and [a=Facundo Cabral] [l=Serie De Oro Tango] - The series mostly include EMI Argentina's historic artists, with [a=Rubén Juárez] being the youngest artist in this category [l=Serie De Oro Popular] - Like Tango series, it mainly include older artists, but child singer [a=Pablo Ruiz] belongs to this category [l=Serie De Oro Latino] - was introduced later (2010), focusing on artists from Spain Note: Please submit the entry with two series' names, this one along with the other, one of the Serie De Oro categories. For some of the older artists, the tracklisting were the equivalent of the earlier album released on LP prior to the introduction of CD. This series would be released again in 2012 under [l=Serie De Oro (6)] which retained the same tracklisting, albeit with a different album code (including barcode).
