Aktiebolaget Knäppupp, Ramel-Alvoproduktion was founded in 1952 by [a573576] and [a9156481]. The company, commonly called AB Knäppupp - or even more commonly just Knäppupp, had major influence in Sweden in the 1950s and 1960s as both a record company and a production company, but it was also known as a motion picture company. The company's, Aktiebolaget Knäppupp, Ramel-Alvoproduktion, productions were distributed under a label with a similar name: [l=Knäppupp], which can be found on releases between 1952 and up to and around 1968. In 1970, Sonet Grammofon AB acquired the rights to the Knäppupp catalogue. Therefore, you will find releases from the period 1970 to 1991 with ℗ Knäppupp/Sonet Grammofon AB on the labels. Between 1991 and 1999 Polygram had the rights. Then, in 1999, PolyGram was sold to Seagram and merged with the MCA family of labels, which became the Universal Music Group.
