Mouton Music Canada was established in Canada on November 4th 1991 and was first mentioned in print on May 27th 1995 in Billboard Magazine when the Owen cassette single 'Slacker Anthem' was favorably reviewed. The label has also been recognized by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), the Government of Canada, and the National Library of Canada. Label owner Tom Ryerson is also a voting member with the Juno Awards, Canada's equivalent of the American Grammy Awards. Tom has been a member of the Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) since September of 1993. Mouton Music Canada has been releasing music since February 8th 1992, and on November 20th 2018 signed a contract with SOCAN as a recognized publisher of popular music in Canada.
