Predominantly associated with Japanese releases of [i]international[/i] EMI Records. [b]東芝EMI株式会社[/b] - printed in Japanese mostly on back of obi or on packaging / inserts. In 1969 [l=Electric & Musical Industries Ltd.] and [l=Capitol Industries, Inc.] acquired 50% of [l299509] and was renamed Toshiba EMI Ltd on 1 October, 1973. On the 3rd Oct 1994 Toshiba-EMI Ltd (TOEMI) becomes a subsidiary of [l118508] Plc after it increases it's shareholding in the company from 50% to 55% and gains a controlling interest. On June 2007, [l1032063] acquired all remaining shares of the company and Toshiba EMI Ltd. is subsequently renamed [l=EMI Music Japan Inc].
