Ballistic Test started off in 1997 as an online zine of industrial and electronic music reviews that was supported by the Flaming Fish Music record label. Soon after, Ballistic Test got involved in putting together compilation CDs (Ballistic Test 6 thru 10, Forensics Lab) through Flaming Fish consisting of the best tracks we could find in the underground subculture industrial / electronic music scene. In December 1999, Ballistic Test departed from Flaming Fish and became its own separate label and zine. Since then, numerous albums by our artists have been released on CDR at mp3.com and ampcast.com where we experienced substantial CD sales, mp3 downloads and song exposure on the top 40 charts. Fast forward to 2003. Now Ballistic Test Zine has merged into Automata print magazine. The Ballistic Test Productions label has moved into professional manufactured CD releases starting with Null Factor - Purity and new artists will be signed. Ballistic Test - based in Toronto, Canada - promotes top notch artists spanning the genres of industrial, gothic, electronica, trance, dark ambient and synthpop.
