XDiSC

Profile

It is a Polish pressing plant that runs optical disc glass mastering and CD/DVD replication by pressing, vinyl pressing (since 2017), and packaging operations. The company was known legally as XDiSC Polska sp. z o.o. from 2003-11-13 and from 2011-04-12 as XDiSC S.A. In 2021, the company acquired fellow Polish pressing plant [l=wmfono]. When XDiSC is not named in the matrix, it can be identified by the following basic information: CDs/DVDs identification Typical matrix pattern: Matrix/Runout: [4- or 5-digit matrix number, sometimes preceded by X] [variable release-specific information] Mastering SID code: LZ88/LZ89/LZ90 or LZ87 - Attention! - previously seen in matrices [l384133], next this: LT 58 (2021) - previously seen in matrices [l1418522] / LD02 - Since 2023 belongs to XDiSC - Previously belonged to [l430654] Mould SID code: AKG ** / Z9** (since 2021) / 2Z** and M7** - e.g. M702 - until 2008 it was used in [l276203] matrixes. From ~2016 XDiSC. Mould text: A01/B01/B02 · The SID codes and mould text are rather variable and one or more element is not always present. · It is not uncommon for there to be two or more mould SID codes on one disc. · Mould SID code AKG ** are independent of the media format: AKG C* - for CD, AKG A*, AKG D* ect. for DVD e.g.:[r7639668]. · Please note that typical XDiSC productions may be credited based on a mould SID code when there is at least one additional identifier +/- typical matrix number +/- mastering SID code +/- stamper(mould) ID. Productions that deviate from typical designations are described below, where e.g. only one SID code occurs, and the rest of the designations belong to external pressing plants or brokers cooperating with XDiSC. Vinyl records identification Unique matrix pattern : Vn##### This pattern can be found etched and / or stamped. The meaning of the number 'n' is still unknown. Generally, it reads V0, V5 and / or V9####. Please, do not enter any number in LCCN section ! XDISC uses two mastering methods : DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) and lacquer acetate. They are able to cut masters and to galvanize these. Actually (in 2024), they own two kind of presses : US ones (via aquisition of [l1418522]’s equipment), rendering a large circa 70 mm ring on labels, and EU ones, rendering a circa 32 mm unique ring, as well as, a few manual pressing plants. LCCN entry for CDs/DVDs: 1. Typical matrix patterns: Glass Mastered At – [l=XDiSC] – X#### / X##### / ##### Examples: [r12499720], [r17811499], [r9952970] and [r21482431]. Pressed By - [l=XDiSC] – X#### / X##### / ##### Examples: [r6372776], [r2015394] and [r7639668]. Older releases: Sometimes it also happens that the CD is not marked with SID codes (no mastering code and mould codes) but there is a logo / inscription "XDISC" and a typical matrix number [4- or 5-digit matrix number, sometimes preceded by X], example: Manufactured By - [r10264372] Mould text: A01/B01/B02 LCCN entry - Pressed By Add "Matrix/Runout" in a separate field. Use of this role only if the A01/B01/B02 mould appears in the inner ring and there must also be a marking related to XDiSC, such as matrix numbering, e.g.: [r4218424] Pressed By – XDiSC – X01085 Matrix / Runout: X01085 HELL-BORN Matrix / Runout (Mould, inner ring): B01 Releases (without typical matrix number): If [l=XDiSC] has collaborated with [l76026]/[l1418522] pressing plant when producing CDs, we can tell by the mastering SID code: IFPI LZ88/LZ89 or LZ90: Example where both pressing plants were identified: [r12750853] LCCN entry: Glass Mastered At – [l=XDiSC] (without typical matrix number) Pressed By - "The second identified pressing plant based on the mould SID code with typical matrix number [l76026] pressing plant + The date of manufacture of the matrix has been taken into account." Different example (without typical matrix number): Glass Mastered At – [l=XDiSC] (without typical matrix number) - [r11004367] Mould, inner ring: "BBBBB..." - mould x2 - Over mould SID code: 01** - It was a way of masking code that did not belong to XDiSC, which was applied by the machine they purchased in 2017 from [l384133] until this code was removed. Ex.:[r14541681] and [r11683136] Examples of cooperation with broker companies: The role for brokers is Made By: a) [l277449] (acts solely as a broker since as early as 2019): [r23936822] [r26990772] b) [l346492] (without a XDiSC matrix number): [r4659857] 2. Non-typical productions - "old" - highly controversial - Self-setting of a role is not recommended in LCCN: If the CD release has no typical matrix number and mastering SID code, only mould SID code + mould text - exceptionally please select a role "Pressed By" but in these cases, we must meet the following additional conditions: - Polish broker designation ([l67773]): Matrix / Runout: R####/[variable release-specific information] Example: [r2330344] Please note that these releases come from the early years of the company and are still highly controversial. It's good if the release in the insert or CD contains the name of the company or information about XDiSC. In the database there are several releases marked as such, only as examples for further research. Please follow the instructions from this profile, do not rely on data from submissions. 3. Non-typical productions - "new" - highly controversial - Not recommended is setting a role in this case in LCCN: Releases in which only mastering SID code may indicate a connection with XDiSC. Please note that XDiSC should not be also credited based solely on a mastering SID code: LZ88/LZ89/LZ90 - When we can not specify a pressing plant co-production of CDs. - This issue requires consensus. Examples from: - 2018: [r11847791] - Only [l404949] is listed as a broker; - 2020: [r15701969]; - 2023: [r27507048]. Please follow the instructions from this profile, do not rely on data from submissions. LCCN entry for vinyl records Vn##### Add a company : Pressed By - [l754452] Example : [r=22629245] Note : As 'n' still stands for an unknown meaning, please do not add any job# to the LCCN section ! Generic labels of XDisc’s test pressings do not read the name of the company. Please, see pictures. URL When the plant is credited in the disc matrix by its URL, please credit [l634262] instead of this page.
