Christian-affiliated punk/hardcore record label founded by [a1169197] in Birmingham, AL in the late 1990s following the demise of Slacker 66, a record store & venue run by Johnson. The label quickly gained notoriety in the Christian alternative scene and their artists started receiving attention from bigger labels like [l12328]. In 2002, Johnson sold the label to [l12328], licensed Takehold's back catalog for distribution and marketing, and took a position as an A&R representative with the label. Several Takehold artists ([a289246], [a312274], and [a326404], as well as [a700660] side project [a289251]) were eventually signed to Tooth & Nail.
