UK label. [b]Label Code: LC 0261 / LC 00261[/b] 'Budget' sub-label of Pye Records, often has Marble Arch Records on the spine. Situated in London, with its logo based on London's famous Marble Arch landmark. Initially releasing predominantly mono recordings, the catalogue prefixes later changed to 'MALS' for releases with stereo sound. The label was launched in October 1964 (see Billboard magazine, 10 October 1964, p. 3). Any earlier dates on Marble Arch releases are copyright dates determined by the first release of the material and not its reissue on Marble Arch, and should not be entered as the release date. In the 1970s, some Marble Arch titles were reissued on Hallmark Marble Arch. The label remained active until the mid-1990s under the ownership of Castle Communications plc.
