SDS Productions

Profile

SDS Productions was founded in 1993 by DJ Net Noise to catalog and distribute his radio program, "Transmission-X", which aired weekly on KUCB radio (now KVCU) in Boulder, Colorado. This show catered to Industrial, EBM, Electro-goth, and Noise/experimental music. Over 20 full-length cassettes were produced and sold at local record stores -- each cassette featuring a different theme or style of music. By 1994, SDS shifted away from the radio programs, and began releasing original music cassettes and compilations. Label operations moved to central Texas in 1995, but its profile only increased among the underground EBM scene of the time and diversified into different media including CD, video, and soundtracks. By 1998, the label slowed down considerably and eventually closed-up shop in 2000, but keept up a Web presence to help promote the underground electronic music scene in central Texas. As a ten year anniversary gift, the entire SDS back catalog was made available for download from the Web site.
