From Telarc, a label known for its audiophile recordings of classical works, this sub-label primarily featured traditional jazz releases, from 1989 to 2005 (From 2005 and later, reissues have followed). From the vocals of [a=Joe Williams], [a=Mel Tormé], and [a=Bobby Short] to digital recordings by many of the pillars of jazz's bebop and post-bop artists, including [a=Gerry Mulligan], [a=Ray Brown], [a=Ahmad Jamal], [a=Jim Hall], [a=Slide Hampton], [a=Jimmy McGriff], [a=George Shearing], [a=McCoy Tyner]'s piano explorations, and more. In 1996, parent Telarc merged with another independent jazz label, [l=Heads Up International]. In late 2005 both Telarc and Heads Up were acquired by [l=Concord Music Group, Inc.]
