Sumsonic was formed in November 1999 by four partners with the acquisition of a studio premises in Battersea, London. Underground, deep progressive house was the core formula with all original material being written and produced by Sumsonic artists, project based alternative music styles have produced, deep house, tech house, breaks & downtempo tracks for compilations and multimedia. Sublabels Mechanism Records and Formerly Known As were launched in 2001 and 2003, respectively.
