ООО «Петродиск» (Petrodisk LLC) has been engaged in wholesale and retail sales of licensed CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, CD-DAs, VHS and information carriers since 1996. They started label [l=Петродиск], which mostly released DJ mixes & albums in various styles of electronic dance music. In March of 2006 they closed their VHS department and stopped selling VHS production. In 2006-2007 the company came under pressure from security forces (Department of Economic Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), searches were carried out in the premises of their stores and unlicensed products were found. As a result, the company's retail network was closed. It is believed that the pressure on the company was part of a large redivision of the audio-video market, that was taking place at that time in St. Petersburg.
