Short-lived U.S. Shellac record label that was produced for [a307446]' [l760032] by the [l350102], which was then a division within the [l477618]. The intent of the Variety label was to issue jazz and big-band material of high musical quality but limited commercial appeal. As such, the venture lasted less then a year, and the label folded by the end of 1937. Some of the material recorded for the Variety label was later issued on [l14624], [l74112] and other [l477618] / [l350102] brands. Some appeared later on [l1866].
