Warner Music began to operate directly in Russia in October 2013 after the acquisition of [l=S.B.A./GALA RECORDS, INC.], which until the Universal Music's acquisition of EMI, the distributor of the latter's releases within Russia. From December 2013, it distributes [l=ООО "Сони Мьюзик Энтертейнмент"] for the Russian market for all releases, including Sony Music's domestic Russian artists.
