Profile

Budget label by [l=EMI], launched in October 1970. It was founded to unify all budget releases by different EMI companies in Europe, excluding the UK. It was coordinated by EMI's Dutch company, [l=EMI-Bovema Holland], also including Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and the Scandinavian countries. The material was drawn from EMI's own labels, together with Imperial, Dunhill, Immediate and Pathé. The initial release consisted of 40 pop and 20 classical albums. Early Dutch and German versions mention bottom rear cover: [i]EMIDISC is a product of EMI-Group Companies issued in Germany by Electrola GmbH., Köln, in the Netherlands by N.V. BOVEMA, Heemstede.[/i] Catalog# on cover is usually without the country specific digit. Please use the catalog# from the labels on top. [b]Labelcode: LC 1331[/b]
