Michael Mayer, owner and A&R of the much-vaunted Kompakt records, launched "Immer". This project will re-release some of Mayer’s favourite deleted vinyl, which has become unavailable with the passage of time. It should be noted that Immer is also the name of Mayer’s CD mix compilation series. Mayer further explained his plans in a recent interview: “Immer means ‘always’ and I will choose tracks that I always play, that always totally work for me. It's going to be a very personal affair, almost a selfish thing to do because I almost can't play the original records anymore. They're so fucked-up and I need new copies.” “There are so many nice records, beautiful records that didn't get really well known; like old deep house things or anything really. I'm collecting things now and it will be a kind of hobby”, added Mayer.
