See also numbered series [l262697]. Trip Jazz was founded in 1974 by producer Fred Norsworthy in Rahway, NJ. They mainly reissued albums that were originally released by the EmArcy, Limelight and Mercury labels. They ceased operations in 1979. The initial 20 reissues in 550D [sic] series and a schedule of additional 10 albums per two months were announced in Billboard issue from September 7, 1974. In November 15, 1975 issue a two page advertisement revealed much of their then current catalogue.
