Rams Horn Records

Profile

Dutch disco label, established in 1979 by [a=Guido Weyprecht] and famous for the pink 12" sleeves. Set up as an import company from the US and Canada, signing Benelux distribution deals with [l=Brunswick] and [l=Prelude Records]. Label Code: LC 9125 / LC 09125 In 1985, the mother company [l=Rams Horn Records B.V.] went bankrupt and due to a dispute with the liquidator, the label had to be rebranded to Rams Horn, with a new parent company [l=G.W. Productions B.V.] The Rams Horn branded releases belong here, too (with [l=Rams Horn] only to be used for company credits). Re-pressings do not necessarily have the previous, original catalog numbers, which explains why the re-pressings appear with identical track listings, but with the old catalog number on the matrix. Founder Guido Weyprecht passed away on December 19th, 2004, and since then the label is run by his son, [a=Siegfried "Siggi" Weyprecht] under a new parent company. Outside of the sublabels, Rams Horn on its own appears to be on hiatus since 2010.
