Rhythm Safari (LLC) was launched in Los Angeles in 1990 by South African veteran music producer/executive [a=Hilton Rosenthal]. The label initially concentrated on world music, but later developed to have success with releases by [a=Carole King], [a=Foreigner], and [a=Boyz Of Paradize]. Distribution was handled by [l=Priority Records]. In 1997 Rhythm Safari (Pty. Ltd.) was re-launched after Mr. Rosenthal's move to Sydney, Australia, with distribution now handled by Universal Music (Australia & New Zealand).
