1960s-1970s soul label from New York City. Also appears as "Sylvia" only when associated to [l=TCF] & [l=Fox Family]. For Bootlegs and unofficial releases, see [l=Sylvia Records (2)]. Along with Arock Records, one of the two labels founded in the 60s by tenor saxophonist and [a=Duke Ellington] alumnus [a=Al Sears]. Located in New York City, Sylvia Records released about 20 funk & soul records during its existence. Releases on Sylvia include seven singles by Chet Ivey and His Avengers and a few one-offs by the likes of Joan Moody, The Corvairs, and Bobby Donaldson.
