CID Entertainment

Profile

CID Entertainment is the latest incarnation of a label which started as CID (Companhia Industrial de Discos) and became CID Digital Laser when started releasing CDs. Its activities began in 1958 as just an LP pressing plant and cassete industry for other Brazilian labels. Little by little it started releasing LP and cassetes on its own musical label: CID. One of the first musical productions was the small colored discs with stories and songs for children under the brand Carroussell. Later, CID was dedicated to contract with Brazilian and international artists. By the 70s the company started appearing at musical events and fairs as MIDEM in France, when they got CID names such as Donna Summer and Barry White. Brazilian artists as Nana Caymmi, Emilio Santiago, Baiano e os Novos Caetanos, Bezerra da Silva, Moreira da Silva among others also joined the catalog. In the 80s, CID consolidates as a national scope label by bringing its releases at stores all over Brazil. At the end of the 80s the label stopped releasing LPs and cassettes, becoming a CD-only label. That's when its label name was changed to CID Digital Laser. Great artists such as Quarteto em Cy, MPB-4, Orquestra Tabajara, Pery Ribeiro, Wanda Sá e Menescal, Leandro Braga, Genival Lacerda, Claudia Telles, Wilson das Neves, Paulinho Tapajós, Alaíde Costa, Claudette Soares, Grupo Raça, Baden Powell are on their catalog. CID Entertainment's motto is "music on the reach of all".
