The Embryo Label was owned by [a=Herbie Mann] and distributed by the Atlantic subsidiary [l=Cotillion]. The 520 series was a jazz series, the 730 series was FM-rock. It shut down in 1977, with its last release by [a=Dick Morrissey] and [a=Jim Mullen], leading Mann to return to Atlantic as an artist.
