German club label Label Code: LC 0565 / LC 00565 Bertelsmann Schallplattenring was founded by [a3036594] on 1 July 1956 as a supplement club label to the Bertelsmann Lesering book sales club. Since most record companies were reluctant to licence their recordings, Bertelsmann set up their own label [l5410] in 1958. Moreover, many pressing plants not being able/willing to press records for the company for contractual reasons, a pressing plant of their own was established as well: [l95728].
