Galton
Profile
Israeli label founded by Judah and Isaac Kensbach as part of the company Gal-Ron Tel-Aviv. Gal-Ron consisted of a record and electronics store and also participated in importing and pressing records for other companies. Under their own label, the bulk of Galton’s eclectic catalog consisted of both licensed and locally made recordings of Chassidic, Yiddish, Cantorial, Pop, and Children’s music in Hebrew. They also released Russian songs smuggled out of the Soviet Union, Romanian comedy musicals, and Mizrahi music under license from the Reuveni Brothers.
