Bradley's Records

Bradley's was a British record label created by ATV Music headed by Derek Johns (and supposedly named for hotelier Alex Bradley in pre-launch publicity) that existed for just over four years between 1973 and the start of 1977. Despite only a handful of artists on their roster, in its brief life the label had a relatively high success rate compared to many other small British labels of the same era with some major UK hit singles by [a=The Goodies], [a=Sweet Dreams (3)] and [a=Stephanie De-Sykes]. There were three original acts on the label at the time of the label's launch: [a=Paul Brett], [a=Kala (9)] and [a=Hunter Muskett]. After all three failed to catch on (and Kala getting dropped after refusing to switch from prog-rock to the highly-popular Glam style under pressure from company officials), they left the label and a new label head, Stewart Slater, shifted focus to singles. The label's initial releases: singles on 23/02/73 - BRAD 201, 302, 303 respectively albums on 09/03/73 - BRADL 1001, 1002, 1003 respectively The catalogue numbers of the releases in 1974 started with BRAD 74, the 1975 releases with BRAD 75 and those from 1976, BRAD 76.
