Kid Rhino began in 1991 as a division of the well-known reissue/compilation label [l=Rhino Records (2)]. The Los Angeles-based label specialized in children's music and kid-friendly soundalike renditions of current hot tracks. They were the official music licensee for [l=Warner Bros. Animation], [l=Cartoon Network], [l=Hanna Barbera], [l=DIC Entertainment Corp.], and [l=Fisher-Price]. Later they were merged into the [l=Warner Music Group]-owned Rhino Entertainment Company.
