Profile

1920s-1930s label from London, UK. Owned by Levy's of 139 Whitechapel High Street, London, and made issues only intermittently. The 1000 series, which contained 13 discs released from 1927 had all but one of its titles drawn from Vocalion's "race" repertory. In 1931 the P100 series was started, with recordings made in Britain. The LV100 series of 1934 drew from the French label Ultraphon. Levy's revived the label again in 1950, taking material from several American labels, among them Mercury.
