Modern Music was the first label / company of the Bihari brothers and changed its name to [l=Modern Records (2)] in 1948. Many pre-1948 issues were reissued on the [l=Modern Records (2)] label with identical numbers but varying credits. The Modern Music imprint, however, continued into the main 20-500 series for some time. [i](Source: the R&B Indies)[/i] Also used as an abbreviation of the associated publishing companies and then affiliated to BMI in the USA and MCPS in the UK, and may then appear as "Mod. Music".
