Brunswick Radio Corporation

Profile

Also known as the Brunswick Radio Corp. [l301470] sold its record division to [l401675] in April, 1930. Warner Brothers operated its new subsidiary as the [l421972]. This company continued to produce the [l14624] and [l74112] labels until late 1931. By that time, Warner Brothers had lost interest in commercial record production because sales had been severely hurt by the Depression. In December, 1931, Warner Brothers signed a deal with the [l477618] whereby ARC would record, manufacture and market [l14624] and [l74112] records as the [l350102]. Seven years later, the [l471293] purchased the [l477618] / [l350102] conglomerate. Rights to [l14624] and [l74112] labels reverted to Warner Brothers, which revived the [l421972]. Warner Brothers sold the [l421972] to [l263894] in 1941, which operated it as a subsidiary.
