The name Polygram Record Service, with or without Oslo at the end, appear on releases for manufacturing or pressing. If Polygram Record Service is credited on releases as Pressed By, credit both [l1808863] and Musikkindustri A/S. Established 1967 under this name after relocating the vinyl manufacturing from the Philips-owned [l1172760]. [l874684] (pressing for Polydor and Deutsche Grammophon) and [l1229407] later take over 50% of the share capital of Musikkindustri A/S (or MIAS). The majority of releases from Philips, Polydor and related labels (1967-1970) intended for the Scandinavian market (often tagged ncb), were pressed by Musikkindustri. All lacquer cuts carrying a 710 in the runouts (1967-1970), was cut here. The majority of releases from Polydor/PolyGram group and related labels (1970-1983) intended for the Scandinavian market (often tagged ncb), were pressed by Musikkindustri. Lacquer cuts carry a 710 in the runouts. Between 1970 and 1983 all vinyl carrying 710 in runout, was cut by [l264550], which was a division of Musikkindustri. Stamper impression rings can help indicate this plant. It should be as on this release. Diameter inner ring = Approximately 30 mm. For 7" pressings, a outer ring with serrations, can indicate this plant. How it should look like, can be seen on this release. If in doubt of any of the above, do not credit this plant. Don't credit Musikkindustri A/S for pressing, when there are 4-prong knock-out center. 1970-1983 releases with 710 in runouts, may have been pressed elsewhere, as the Lacquer was sometimes sent to other plants for pressing. Musikkindustri occasionally helped other PolyGram plants with "big" releases, and also did pressings for EMI, CBS and others. The full plating process was also done here, for majority of the releases with 710 between 1967 and 1983. The plant was closed down on 31 December 1983. MIAS operated 11 fully automatic PRA presses and one Lenned tandem press and had an annual capacity of 6 million discs and 3 million cassettes (as per 1979).
