BDG was established by Jeff Brody, a 44 year veteran of the music industry in 1999. Prior to establishing BDG, Brody was SR Vice President of Sales and Field Marketing for the Mercury Group of Labels which included Mercury, Def Jam and Capricorn just to name a few and Michael Resnick, a music industry veteran and principal of The Michael Resnick Group. BDG was created to serve the needs of strong independent labels with talented artists and the financial resources looking for national distribution but also able to attack records on a micro marketing basis to break and develop new artists.
