Founded in 1986 at the initiative of professionals from the European song scene (French Community of Belgium, Switzerland and France) anxious to share their know-how between professionals, the French-speaking "Conseil Francophone De La Chanson" (CFC) is an international organization non-governmental association type whose mission is to promote song and music in the French-speaking world community through various projects. Established in around twenty countries, it has an office in Laval , Québec (Headquarters) , a Europe office in Brussels and an Africa office in Douala.
