Red Room Sessions

Profile

Red Room Sessions was a series of 13 limited edition CDs as part of special promotion by Coca-Cola in the UK, starting on 2 March 2003 and available for the next two months. The Txt For Music promotion was the UK's first ever "mobile phone text-to-collect mechanic" and the largest on-pack text promotion ever, and was featured on over 200m special cans and bottles of Coca-Cola and Cherry Coke. It allowed consumers to build credits by texting in or entering unique codes via the web. Credits were then exchanged for a choice of 5 CD "compilation albums" and 8 CD "singles" featuring both established music artists and breaking acts. The promotion was in conjunction with publications such as Smash Hits, Sneak, Heat, Kerrang!, Mixmag, Q magazine, as well as on radio stations, including Kiss and the Big City network. CDs #01 to #08 in the Series each featured an individual act: #01 Busted / #02 Kym Marsh / #03 Sonique / #04 Zena / #05 Kelly Llorenna / #06 Feeder / #07 Mis-Teeq / #08 Harry CDs #09 to #13 in the Series each featured a themed compilation: #09 Dance / #10 [TBC] / #11 [TBC] / #12 [TBC] / #13 Alternative [Pop 01 and Pop 02 were two of the TBC issues though which numbers are not clear and the last theme is unknown at this time.]
