Profile

Defunct vinyl pressing plant built in 1979 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. The plant, formally known as Industrial Sonografica Venezolana C.A. was a subsidiary of the 1BC group of companies, owners of [l=Distribuidora Sonografica C.A.] By 1980, the plant moved into tape production too. The plant had the most modern equipment at the time with 8 Alpha Toolex Automatic presses and Neumann cutting lathes and equipped with 16 more presses if necessary. Although not the largest disk factory in the country, originally had capacity for 4 million disks a year. Vinyl pressing ended by mid 90s and Tape production by late 90s and ceased operations. This plant used to press records for many label companies like [l=Polydor S.A. (2)], [l=PolyGram Discos, S.A.] and others.
