Folklore De La Zone Mondiale

Profile

Folklore de la Zone Mondiale (FZM) first appeared in 1987 as a logo on [a=Bérurier Noir]’s album 'Abracadaboum' [[m1398]]. In 2003, the label was revived and organized in the form of a small company run by three members of the [a=Bérurier Noir] ([a=François (3)], [a=Loran], [a=Masto]). The first purpose of the label was to reclaim the management of the group's catalog and monitor all aspects. New projects were added by releasing records by bands such as [a=Ethnopaire], [a=Kni Crik], [a=Lucrate Milk] or [a=Junior Cony]. The label as a structure of cultural resistance also produced the first album of groups still little known to the public, like [a=Ethnopaire], [a=Cellule X] or [a=Hydra (31)]. In parallel, [a=PariA (4)], who joined the label in 2004 and is responsible for the direct distribution of discs on the internet and in concert, offers co-productions with many French and foreign labels: [a=Guarapita], [a=Witch Hunt], [a=Calavera (2)], [a=Fall of Efrafa], Sickness, [a=La Raïa], [a=Mon Dragon], [a=Oi Polloi]… In late 2007 the label closed for financial reasons and two new structures were created: - Loran launched an organization called [l=Lorspider Production] that continues to work with the label’s bands and produces some new projects. - [a=PariA (4)] and Alexis founded the cooperative "La Distro" which continued the distribution of the FZM catalog through the internet and in concerts as well as the distribution of other independent labels and bands, to offer a catalog of reasonably priced conter-culture music. This structure folded in 2009 and was replaced by [l=La Distroy]. In 2013, [a=PariA (4)] founded [l=Archives de la Zone Mondiale], a label about french punk-rock bands like [a=Bérurier Noir], [a=Ludwig Von 88], [a=Lucrate Milk], [a=Haine Brigade], [a=Heyoka], [a=René Binamé] and many others.
