Recording studio and mastering facility that operated in Northern New Jersey, during the 1970s. Also credited as : [b]- All Platinum Recording - All Platinum Recording Studios - Platinum Recording Studios - Platinum Recording Studios, Englewood, NJ [/b] Initially founded by [a=Joe Robinson, Sr.] and his wife [a=Sylvia Robinson] during the 1960s as [l=Soul Sound Studios], it was renamed during the early 1970s to All Platinum Studios. It subsequently changed its name again during the late 1970s to [l=Sugarhill Studios] and continued to operate under that name until 2002 when it ceased operations after a fire destroyed the facility. Vinyl format releases that were mastered at or had the lacquer cut at All Platinum Studios can sometimes be identified by the following runout groove etchings: • ALL PLATINUM • AP • (AP)
