Budget range for Sony PlayStation games in the PAL regions. To qualify for a Platinum re-release, a title had to sell at least 100,000 copies in the PAL territories, later revised 250,000 and again to 400,000. Today, a lot of first party titles get a Platinum re-release regardless of sales. Introduced for the original PlayStation in 1997, the Platinum Range has to date covered all three PlayStation models (1, 2 & 3) as well as the PlayStation Portable.
