Construction was completed sometime after the acquisition of [l=Victor] by [l=RCA] on March 15, 1929. Variety Magazine advertised at the time that it cost $250,000 to build, and the complex, occupying a full city block, went from Orange Drive to Sycamore Avenue between Santa Monica Blvd. and Romaine St. Though now officially [l=RCA Victor], the company was still being referred to simply as "Victor" and record labels did not carry "RCA Victor" until 1940s. One of the first stars on its label to record there was [a=Jimmie Rodgers] in July of 1930 accompanied by [a=Louis Armstrong] on trumpet. This location was later used by [l=Radio Recorders] and [l=Annex Studios, Hollywood]. For other RCA Victor Studios please use: [l343901] • [l343911] • [l343879] • [l331163] • [l343912].
