Quellux

Profile

Quellux was a German budget label which operated exclusively for the mail order company [l245036]. The latter was exclusive retailer and distributed the records via its mail order catalogues. The label didn't make own recordings, but licensed or instructed external companies with production of music. The most important partner was [l2923475], a branch of [l777196], which temporarily was even part of the Quellux-logo. It is worth noting that Quellux also licensed existing records and re-labeled them. The label was founded around 1957 and was renamed around 1960 to [l89368], which was Quelle's overall own budget label (also for TV sets, fridges, cameras and so forth). Universum continued as a label until around 1964. Quellux records were rarely released in a picture sleeve. The big majority of records were delivered in a Quellux company sleeve with a low content of information.
