Launched on January 1, 1987 by [a=Hikaru Kanematsu] as a label for producer-driven records (then still uncommon in Japan), with [a=Kazuo Zaitsu]'s album [m=1400453]. Though the label became associated with Shibuya-kei for a number of years due to its release of [a=Pizzicato Five] and several associated acts, Triad's roster has been predominantly rock bands through the label's first run up to 2007, and its subsequent revival a decade later.
