UK record label founded by David Morris Levy and Jacques Levy. [b]Label Code: LC 0195 / LC 00195[/b] Embassy records were cover (tribute) versions of current hits produced and manufactured by [l=Oriole Records Limited] for F.W. Woolworth & Co.Ltd. from late 1954 until 1965. In 1964 [l211334] acquires Oriole Records Ltd. and is renamed [l1105348] with the rights to the imprint initially passing to that company, subsequently CBS Records Limited is renamed [l272164] in 1967, with that company reviving Embassy as a budget reissue label in October 1973, and continued into the mid eighties.
